Rammstein — Live in Mexico City: A Legendary Stadium Show Hits the Big Screen

The concert film Rammstein — Live in Mexico City was captured during three sold-out shows at the Foro Sol stadium in Mexico City, held on October 1, 2, and 4, 2022, which drew a total audience of nearly 200,000. These concerts marked the conclusion of the North American leg of the stadium tour by Rammstein and its frontman, Till Lindemann. Each show played to an audience of approximately 65,000, with the production itself serving as a prime example of the scale at which the band operates in large arenas: a colossal stage, intricate lighting rigs, pyrotechnics, and a multi-layered, dramatic concert narrative.

According to HeadBanger, the North American leg of the tour required a crew of over 210 specialists and a volume of equipment comparable to the cargo capacity of seven Boeing 747 aircraft. The film features 23 tracks spanning various eras of Rammstein’s career. The setlist includes "Armee der Tristen," "Deutschland," "Mein Herz brennt," "Radio," "Sonne," "Du hast," "Ich will," "Adieu," and the rarely performed "Te quiero puta!" Spanning over two hours, the concert film captures not only the grand scale of the stadium setting but also the finer details of the performance—nuances that would be difficult to discern even from the best seats in the stands.

Live in Mexico City was directed by Paul Dugdale, who has previously worked with The Rolling Stones, Taylor Swift, Elton John, and Adele. In the film, he alternates between wide shots of the packed stadium, close-ups of the musicians, and footage captured right by the stage. This cinematic approach offers a fresh perspective on a familiar show: the pyrotechnics and stage design retain their grand scale, while the viewer is brought much closer to the band. The global theatrical release begins on November 4, 2026, for a limited run. On November 20, the Live in Mexico City concert album will be released—available digitally, on CD, Blu-ray, and vinyl, including several special collector’s editions. For Rammstein fans, this is an opportunity to revisit the band’s stadium era in all its magnitude—complete with fire, heavy sound, and a setlist spanning their entire career.
